The second round of matches in Group H finished on Sunday with Spain beating Saudi Arabia in Atlanta and Cape Verde sharing the spoils with Uruguay in Miami.

Mikel Oyarzabal’s brace powered Spain to the top of the standings despite a shock 0-0 draw with Cape Verde in the first round. The island nation managed to take a point of two-time World Cup winner Uruguay as well.

Spain took a large step towards knockout qualification with a 4-0 thrashing of Saudi Arabia in Atlanta. With four points in the bag, the reigning European champion is favourite to top the group.

Even a loss in the final game of the group could see Spain progress as one of the best third-placed teams.

Uruguay can qualify as the second team with a draw against Spain provided Cape Verde draws with Saudi Arabia, thanks to its better goals-scored tally.

A loss to Spain will make it tough for La Celeste to progress even as the third-placed team.

Cape Verde can qualify if it beats Saudi Arabia and Uruguay drops points to Spain. Saudi Arabia will need to beat Cape Verde and hope Uruguay doesn’t earn more than a point against Spain.
