A 10-man East Bengal fought valiantly to hold Bengaluru FC to a 3-3 draw in an exciting Indian Super League 2025-26 clash at the Salt Lake Stadium on Thursday. The match, definitely one of the most exciting of the season, saw six goals shared and constant shifts in momentum.

Bengaluru FC struck the first blow in the 12th minute when Ashique Kuruniyan produced a brilliant finish with his weaker effort, smashing the ball into the top corner from outside the box. East Bengal responded in the 21st minute through Anwar Ali, who scored with an exquisite overhead kick.

The game took a dramatic turn in the 24th minute when East Bengal’s Miguel Ferreira was shown a straight red card following an altercation with Ashique. Tensions escalated further as Miguel kicked the ball toward the Bengaluru dugout while leaving the pitch.

Despite being reduced to 10 men, East Bengal continued to put up a strong fight. However, Bengaluru regained the lead in the 39th minute when Suresh Wangjam capitalised on a goalkeeping error by Prabhsukhan Gill, who spilled his attempted catch while trying to block a Ryan Williams cross, to prod the ball home.

East Bengal equalised again in the 56th minute through Saul Crespo, who fired home after his initial attempt was blocked. Bengaluru once more edged ahead in the 71st minute, with Williams scoring a spectacular goal from a tight angle.

Just when Bengaluru looked set to secure all three points, substitute Anton Sojberg struck deep into stoppage time (90+7) to rescue a dramatic draw for East Bengal.
