Norway progressed into the FIFA World Cup 2026 knockouts with a 3-2 win over Senegal at the New York/New Jersey Stadium on Monday.
Marcus Pedersen opened the scoring before Erling Haaland struck twice in the second half. Ismaila Sarr popped up with two goals on either side of Norway’s third goal to give Norway a nervy finish, but it managed to hold on to seal its passage into the Round of 32.
Senegal, meanwhile, is third in the group with zero points from two outings.
Senegal will hope to claim victory in the final game against Iraq to stand a chance of qualifying to the next round.
