Kishan’s knock is also among the list of captains who have had the unique distinction of registering a high score in the first IPL match as a captain. This aggregate takes him to the sixth position in the all-time list of players with the most runs in T20 cricket. By doing so, he also became the highest run-getter in this format among batters from Asian countries. He went ahead of Pakistani Shoaib Malik’s tally of 13571 runs.

His score is now the fifth-highest by any debutant batter in IPL history. Only two players have managed a three-figure score on their IPL debut — Brendon McCullum (158*) and Michael Hussey (116) for KKR and CSK, respectively. Curiously, both these feats came in the first two IPL games of the inaugural edition in 2008. Australian Jake Fraser-McGurk’s case is unique, as he is the only one in the list below to have done so twice.

India’s Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s explosive innings in Guwahati on 30 March 2026 marked his fifth such score before this age. Notably, this tally also features three centuries.
