Kylian Mbappe got close to another FIFA World Cup record as he broke the deadlock for France against Senegal in their FIFA World Cup 2026 group-stage match in New York on Tuesday.
Mbappe combined with Michael Olise to finally beat Edouard Mendy and score his 13th goal in the quadrennial tournament, surpassing Brazil legend Pele, who had 12 goals in the quadrennial tournament.
The Frenchman’s tally of 13 also got with level with Argentina captain Lionel Messi, who is expected in action against Jordan later in the day.
