I vs RCB, IPL 2026: Catch all the highlights from the IPL 2026 match between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru which happened at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, on Sunday, April 12. 

  • RCB beats MI by 18 runs

    Romario Shepherd with the final over. High full toss to start with. Swatted away for a six by Rutherford. He gets to his fifty. He also wants a review for a no ball. Review shows the ball was below his waist height. Length ball now from Shepherd. Whacked away for a six to the leg side by Rutherford. Another six now. Over covers. He gets a fourth six. This time down the ground. 

    RCB has the last laugh though as it beats MI by 19 runs to get back to winning ways.

    Low full toss from Bhuvi. Clipped away for a four by Rutherford. Bhuvi gets his length right for the rest of the over. RCB has practically sealed this game. Just nine runs from the over.

    Duffy starts with a legside wide. And then gives away an off-side wide. RCB uses a review to overturn the call. Duffy with a low full toss. Swung away for a six by Rutherford. Another full toss. Another six. MI and RCB trade reviews to overturn wide calls. Rutherford closes the over with another six, over long on.

    Bhuvi with the 17th over. Three runs from the first two balls. Short now from the RCB pacer. Santner guides it over backward point for a four. Two singles follow. A dot to finish the over. RCB has the win in sight.

    Rasikh seems to have cramped up during his bowling run-up. And we have the strategic time out. Rutherford pumps the first ball after the break over mid wicket for a six. Rasikh is struggling. He needs medical attention again. But he has managed to continued. Back of a length and Naman Dhir slices it into the hands of extra cover.

    With just one ball left, Rasikh is down on the floor again. He can’t finish the over. Shepherd steps up and he gets Rutherford out. Good running catch by Shepherd himself. Oh wait. He has overstepped. Rutherford survives. He gets a freehit to boot. Just a single off it though.

    Duffy returns and he starts with a wide. Hardik slices one over extra cover for a double. Deft from Hardik now. Slices Duffy behind point for a four. Wide from Duffy. Hardik chases after it. Top edged and he is caught in the deep. This should be it for MI.

    Suyash with his final over. Fires in a fuller one. Hardik whacks it down the ground. Krunal manages to get a hand onto it. But, such was the power that it spills over for a four. Rutherford also gets into the act. Slogs Suyash over deep mid wicket for a six. The required rate is well over 16 and MI needs more and more boundaries to keep the game within its reach.

    Krunal vs Hardik again. Starts with an off-side wide. A single now brings SKY on strike. MI needs a biiiig over here. Instead they lose a big wicket. SKY is caught at deep fine leg attempting a lofted sweep.

    MI brings in Rutherford as its impact sub. He gets off the mark with a single to the off side.

    Suyash with a wide short ball to start the over. Hardik chases after it. Edged and runs away for a four. Hardik calls for a change of gloves. Hardik with a wild swing now. Beaten. Another change of gloves. Hauls the next to mid wicket for a single. SKY pumps the next to a similar region. Two runs now. Length now from Suyash. SKY cracks it through covers for a four.

    RCB’s batters fired on all cylinders to post a commanding 240 on the board. MI has one of the most explosive batting lineups in the competition but a target of 241 is a tall ask for any team, even on the flattest of pitches. Openers Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton will have no choice but to go big from ball one as the asking rate is more than 12 runs per over.

    Can MI’s batting lineup pull off a sensational chase like they did against KKR when they chased down 221, or will RCB’s bowlers execute their plans to perfection? Expect fireworks, second innings to begin shortly..

  • No Hazlewood for RCB

    After all that noise about Josh Hazlewood’s injury and his availability, the Australian finally made his comeback in the last match against Rajasthan Royals, much to the delight of the RCB camp. However, after just one game, Hazlewood was dropped for his replacement Jacob Duffy against MI today, who impressed in his two outings when Hazlewood was not fit to play. The reasons for his omission are unclear.
