Scotland will begin its bid to cross the FIFA World Cup group stage for the first time in its history when it takes on Haiti in a Group C fixture at the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on Sunday.
Haiti’s most recent and only appearance at the Finals came in 1974, when it left without recording a single point. Meanwhile, Scotland is making a return to the biggest stage after 28 years.

The Algerian has been a FIFA-approved international referee since 2014 and primarily officiates in the French top-tier Ligue 1. He was also part of the officials team for last year’s FIFA Club World Cup and has also taken charge of games in the 2019, 2022, 2024 and 2025 editions of the Africa Cup of Nations.
