Japan will take on Sweden in a FIFA World Cup 2026 Group F game in Arlington, Texas, on Thursday.
Both Japan and Sweden have a high chance of qualification to the next round.
A draw would put Japan on five points and guarantee the runner-up spot, while Sweden would be on four points in third. However, the European side would be almost guaranteed to go through as one of the best eight third-place teams.
Even if Sweden wins, Japan will likely qualify as a third-place team as long as the margin of defeat is minimal.
The Japan vs Sweden FIFA World Cup 2026 match will be played at the Dallas Stadium, Texas, on June 25, with kick-off scheduled for 6 p.m. local time (4:30 a.m. IST on June 26, Friday).
