Australia registered a dominant nine-wicket win over Bangladesh in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Group 1 match at Headingley, Leeds on Wednesday.
Put in to bat, Bangladesh struggled for momentum and was restricted to 77 for eight in 20 overs, with captain Nigar Sultana’s 27 off 47 balls the only innings of substance. Ritu Moni added 16, but regular wickets kept Bangladesh from building any meaningful partnership.

The match aggregate of 155 runs was the lowest in a WT20I between Australia Women and Bangladesh Women.
Chasing 78, Australia lost Beth Mooney for 10 to Marufa Akter but never came under pressure. Georgia Voll led the chase with an unbeaten 45 off 32 balls, hitting six fours and a six, while Perry finished not out on 19.
