Sweden will be hunting for a second win and a passage into the knockouts when it faces Netherlands in Group F of the FIFA World Cup 2026 in Houston.
Graham Potter’s side beat Tunisia 5-1 in its opening match and another three points will take it through to round of 32. For Netherlands, a win will not assure qualification but significantly boost its chances.
English referee Michael Oliver will take charge of the match at the Houston Stadium. This will the first game at this World Cup for the experienced Englishman.
He was supposed to take charge of the game between Ecuador and Ivory Coast earlier in the tournament, but pulled out due to an injury.
He had taken charge of three games at the 2022 Qatar World Cup and dished out 18 yellow cards.
The 41-year-old has been a regular name in Premier League and UEFA Champions League games, and at times has been in the limelight for tough decisions.
After 543 games in-charge across all competitions, Oliver averages 3.42 yellow cards per game and 0.13 red cards per game.
