Indian all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy was ruled out of the side’s upcoming T20I series against England and Ireland due to a left quadriceps discomfort, confirmed by BCCI on Tuesday.
Mumbai’s Suryansh Shedge was announced as the replacement for Nitish, who will now undergo rehabilitation.
Shegde, a pace-bowling all-rounder, was recently in action for India A in the tri-series in Sri Lanka, where he scored 147 runs from five matches. He also bowled 23 overs, but managed just two wickets
The 23-year-old represented Punjab Kings in IPL 2026, tallying 158 runs from seven games at an impressive strike rate of 175.55, while averaging close to 40.
Shedge has featured regularly for Mumbai in domestic cricket across formats, ever since his debut in 2024.
Nitish had turned out for India in the ODI series against Afghanistan.
