The IPL 2026 match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Kolkata Knight Riders in Raipur has been delayed by rain. 

If the match is washed out, it will likely have serious implications on the race for the playoff spots. Here are the implications it could have on both sides’ playoff qualification chances:

Royal Challengers Bengaluru - 15 points from 12 matches

A washout tonight will be enough to keep RCB in second place with 15 points from 12 matches. It will likely need another win from its remaining two fixtures to secure a playoff spot, and two wins in order to seal a top-two spot. 

Remaining fixtures: Punjab Kings (A), Sunrisers Hyderabad (A)

Kolkata Knight Riders - 10 points from 11 matches

If tonight’s match is rained off, KKR will jump over Delhi Capitals to move to seventh in the table with 10 points. Its qualification scenario still heavily depends on other results, but it will likely need at least two wins in its last three to reach the top four.
