Vinicus Junior’s second goal in Brazil’s final FIFA World Cup 2026 Group C encounter against Scotland in Miami was ruled out on Wednesday.
The Real Madrid winger put his side in front in the 7th minute capitalising on a defensive mistake and looked to have been lucky the second time too, in the 22nd minute.
But the goal was eventually ruled out after a quick check by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR).
The winger tried to steal the ball of defender Jack Hendry and rounded the keeper before slotting the ball into the net to double the lead.
But, on replay the VAR adjudged that Vinicius had tripped the centre-back which led to him losing possession in a dangerous area.
As it stands, Brazil will qualify to the round of 32 as toppers of Group C.
