France forward Bradley Barcola found the net against Senegal during his side’s FIFA World Cup 2026 opening match in New Jersey on Tuesday.
The goal doubled the advantage for Les Bleus and gave the two-time champion breathing room against the Lions of Teranga.
Barcola is a right-footed player and plays on the right-wing for Paris-Saint Germain since 2023. He was born in Villeurbanne in 2002 and came up the ranks at the Olympique Lyonnais youth academy.
In 2022–2023, Barcola had a breakout season. He featured in 31 matches for Lyon, scoring 7 goals along with 11 assists. After that season, PSG, the most dominant club in France, acquired his services for €45 million.
He was part of the PSG side that secured back-to-back UEFA Champions League titles. He has made 152 appearances for the French champion, and scored 39 while also assisting 37.
He has also played for France for the Under-21 and Under-23 teams. For the senior team, Barcola debuted in 2024 and had 21 appearances and three goals before Tuesday.
