The New York Knicks will face the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA 2026 Finals with the first of the six matches taking place at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio on Wednesday.
This will be the Knicks’ ninth appearance at the Finals, searching for their third title — a first since 1973. On the other hand, the Spurs will be playing in the Finals for the seventh time, having won the title five times.
Incidentally, the last time the Knicks reached the NBA Finals was in 1999, and the opponent was also the San Antonio Spurs.
It was the Spurs’ maiden Finals appearance and they went on to beat the Knicks 4-1 en route to their first title.
