Gujarat Titans wins by seven wickets
A clinical, somewhat old-fashioned, chase from Gujarat Titans again there. Shubman Gill took his time, picking off boundaries and keeping the strike ticking over, while Jos Buttler looked in regal touch as he continued his resurgence with the bat this season.
Both batters fell before the end, but Washington Sundar was on hand to finish of the match and ensure that the visitor leaves Ekana Stadium with two points.

Gill looks to hit straight, and it lands short of Mukul at long-on. Reverse-sweep from Buttler, runs away for four. Pushed to long-off for one.

Now Gill picks the length ball and guides it towards fine leg region for four. Now he picks the length ball and lofts his straight drive and gets a SIX! Beautiful shot.
Now he punches the ball towards cover region and the ball reaches the fence, another four! Gill ends the over with a brilliant lofted flick for four.

Sudharsan on strike. A dot to begin with. Now Sudharsan drives through the cover region and gets a boundary early into his innings.
Another dot. Sudharsan unable to find the gap again, dot. Dot again at the same point region. Now he finds the gap finally as he ends the over with another cover drive for four.
Gujarat Titans needs 165 to win
A curious innings that threatened to get going a fair few times, but in truth never did. The GT bowlers struck regularly, utilising the back-of-a-length and short balls to pry out batters.
Prasidh Krishna has now reclaimed the Purple Cap with his four wickets, while Rashid Khan and Mohammed Siraj bowled magnificently as well.
That said, this is a decidely tricky wicket to bat on, and the late flow of runs has managed to push it up to 164 for eight. Shubman Gill, B. Sai Sudharsan, and Co. will have their work cut out for them, how will they fare?

George Linde, on IPL debut, is the new man as the LSG Impact Player. Ayush Badoni is out. Shahrukh Khan has been brought in as the Impact Player for GT as well. Linde misses the pull first ball. Pulled away for one, Linde is off the mark. Mukul taps away a single. Pinned on the back leg, decent shout but not given.

Siraj to bowl out, and nearly a run-out first ball! Would have been gone with a direct hit. Four! Short ball, and Mukul top-edges it away past the keeper. Quick single through covers.
Short from Siraj again, and Samad only half gets out of the way. It runs off the gloves for one. Mukul takes another quick single to covers.

Prasidh again, cuts Pooran in half! Good bowling. Can’t flick it away now. Gone! Soft dismissal! Slower ball bouncer, and Pooran just pats it to Gill at mid-off.

The hero of the KKR game, Mukul Choudhary, is in. Off the mark with a single to long-on. Samad defends to point.

Rashid to bowl out, will Pooran chance his arm against him? Not first ball, defended again. He does second ball, it goes uuuuuupppp....and just gets over the rope! Six more, better timing now and Pooran is away!
Cut off the stumps to point. Goes straight again, and it lands at long-off on the bounce. Ooh, nearly a caught and bowled to end the over, Rashid can’t quite cling on with a dive in his follow-through.

Rabada again, Pooran defends to point. Worked away for one more. Four! Much needed, nothing wrong with the ball, Samad edges it fine and it runs away. Four! More confident, pull shot in the gap and it runs away for four.
Snorter from Rabada, Samad weaves out of the way. Rabada is asking for a caught behind, and Gill has reviewed it! Doesn’t seem to be any bat on it...yep no bat involved. Dot to end the over.
Nine from the over, a much needed injection of haste for LSG.

Half-volley on leg, Markram flicks it aerially....and a diving Phillips puts it down! He made all the ground running to his left and took the catch, but it bounced out of his hands as his elbows hit the ground. And escapes again! Uppish punch from Markram, and it brushes cover’s fingers as it runs away for four.
He finally has his man now! Justice for Prasidh. On a length, Markram pulls but picks out Washington Sundar at deep midwicket who does well to stay inside the ropes. First for Prasidh, and LSG has lost its top three.

Ashok Sharma into the attack. A dot to begin with. Markram plays a lofted on drive and sends the ball over long on for a six! Lovely striking.

Siraj for his third. Pant goes for a slog and ends up hitting very high in the air. Tewatia settles under the ball and completes the catch. Pant is gone after scoring 18 off 11 balls.

Pant says it doesn’t matter too much whether his side is batting or bowling first. Says that winning is a boost, but that his side will have to be at its best today, and that his side needs to show intent on the field. Same team for LSG as well.
Pitch report
The Ekana Stadium pitch has produced a large range of scores in recent, and has some patches of brown on it. The pitch is generally on the slower side, but Michael Clarke reckons the pitch will play decently for the batters.
It is also “piping hot” according to Ian Bishop, which could make the surface break up as the day progresses.
Is Rashid Khan back to his best?
Rashid Khan has struggled in the last two seasons for Gujarat Titans, having had his worst two seasons in the IPL back-to-back in 2024 and 2025. He managed 10 wickets in 2024 and nine wickets in 2025, with a rising economy rate in both seasons.
However, he has started 2026 in strong form, managing five wickets in three matches at an economy of just over 7 runs per over.
Can Pooran finally come good?
Nicholas Pooran was one of the standouts of Lucknow Super Giants’ IPL 2025 campaign, scoring 524 runs at a remarkable strike-rate of 196.25, and established himself as one of the most dangerous hitters of spin in the tournament.
He has found 2026 tough in comparison, managing just 22 runs from his three innings at a paltry strike-rate of 81.48. Will today be the day he comes good?
History beckons for Shubman Gill
Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill is just 25 runs away from becoming the second-fastest Indian to score 4000 runs in IPL today afternoon. If he completes the milestone this afternoon, he will do it in 118 matches, quicker than Virat Kohli (128 innings) and behind only KL Rahul (105 innings) for Indians.
A new face in the LSG camp
Lucknow Super Giants has a new face to call upon tonight, having signed up South African all-rounder George Linde as a replacement for the injured Wanindu Hasaranga.
Linde, who has played nearly 40 T20Is for the Proteas, is a left-arm spinner and lower-order hitter.
Can LSG continue its winning run against GT?
Lucknow Super Giants won both of its matches against Gujarat Titans in IPL 2025, a run it will be looking to continue this afternoon.
In the first of those two meetings in Lucknow, Shubman Gill and B. Sai Sudharsan scored fifties to help GT post 180 for six before Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran led the reply as LSG won by six wickets.
Their meeting in Ahmedabad was dominated by Mitchell Marsh, who smoked 117 from 64 balls with 10 fours and eight sixes as LSG scored 235 for two before Will O’Rourke’s three-wicket haul helped it leave GT 33 runs short.

Gujarat Titans secured its first win of the season with a nailbiting one-run victory the night prior over Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. After being put in by the host, half-centuries from Shubman Gill, Washington Sundar, and Jos Buttler helped GT post 210 for four in 20 overs.
KL Rahul anchored the DC chase with 92 from 52 balls, but David Miller was forced to off with a hand injury. Rahul’s dismissal though, brought the South African back, and he managed to change the equation from 45 needed off 18 balls to two in two. On the penultimate ball, he refused a single that would have given Kuldeep Yadav strike, and missed the final ball resulting in Kuldeep’s run-out and a one-run victory for GT.
Last time out: Mukul's heroics fire LSG to victory
Lucknow Super Giants secured its second consecutive victory against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata in its last match thanks to the heroics of Mukul Choudhary, who announced himself on the IPL stage with an unbeaten 54 from 27 delivieries.
Needed 54 from the final four balls with Avesh Khan for company, Mukul carted the KKR bowling attack all over the ground with some eye-catchingly wristy strokes, and a scrambled bye from the final delivery of the match was enough to secure a three-wicket win for the visitor.
