Royal Challengers Bengaluru won the toss in the IPL 2026 final and inserted its opponent Gujarat Titans in at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday.
The defending champion’s pace bowlers backed the decision by dismissing GT’s dangerous opening pairing. Josh Hazlewood removed captain Shubman Gill in the third over before Bhuvneshwar Kumar nabbed Sai Sudharsan in the next.
As a result, Gujarat could only put up 155 runs on the board. Even this total was possible only because of Washington Sundar’s fifty in the middle order.
The lowest total in an IPL final belongs to Sunrisers Hyderabad, which was bundled out for 113 during the final against Kolkata Knight Riders in 2024. This was the only instance of a team getting bowled out in the title match.
The next lowest score belongs to Chennai Super Kings, which managed 125 for nine against Mumbai Indians in 2013.
