The Delhi Capitals vs Punjab Kings match in Dharamsala on Monday is the first time in ten years that pacers have bowled all 20 overs in an innings in an IPL match.
The last time that we saw this happen in the IPL was in the 2016 season in the match between the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad, when SRH used five pacers to bowl out the 20 overs.
Against PBKS today, DC used an all pace attack comprising Mitchell Starc, Auqib Nabi, Lungi Ngidi, Madhav Tiwari, and Mukesh Kumar. DC captain Axar Patel, the only spinner in today’s lineup, did not bowl a single over.
The strategy to use only pacers did not quite pay off as PBKS accumulated more than 200 runs on the board.
