Ireland and West Indies will kick off a Women’s T20I Tri-Series, which also includes Pakistan, at the Castle Avenue in Dublin on Thursday.

The six-match tournament is a precursor to the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, which begins in England and Wales next month, and will provide the three competing teams with an opportunity to fine-tune their preparations for the showpiece event.

The Irish women’s team is coming off a successful Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament, where it won three of its five matches. Meanwhile, West Indies has lost of its last five T20Is, which includes series defeats against Sri Lanka and Australia.

However, the Windies, led by all-rounder Hayley Matthews, will take confidence from its unbeaten record against the Irish, having won all eight of its previous encounters against the Girls in Green.
