Vinicius Junior’s brace helped Brazil to a 3-0 win over Scotland on Wednesday and ensured the side finishes top of the FIFA World Cup 2026 Group C standings.
The Real Madrid winger punished a defensive mistake by Scott McKenna to put his side in front in the seventh minute. The winger had the ball in net in the 22nd minute after stealing the ball from Jack Hendry, but he was adjudged to have tripped the defender by VAR.
The 25-year-old eventually got his second goal in first half stoppage time, heading in a cross from Bruno Guimaraes.
Brazil extended its lead in the second half when Guimaraes played in Matheus Cunha who scored his third goal of the campaign.
The Selecao will now face the second-placed team in Group K in its round of 32 match in Houston on June 29.
