Thomas Tuchel’s England will get its FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign underway when it takes on Croatia at the Dallas Stadium in Arlington on Wednesday.

Tuchel has made some bold choices with his squad selection for the tournament in the USA, Canada and Mexico.

One of those calls was not bringing on board Manchester United centre-back Harry Maguire, who has 66 caps for the Three Lions.

Maguire featured in England’s March friendlies but was omitted by Tuchel as he opted to stick with the players who were part of the World Cup qualification run.

Maguire expressed disappointment over his omission, posting on X, “I was confident I could of played a major part this summer for my country after the season I’ve had. I’ve been left shocked and gutted by the decision.”
