Belgium and Egypt will kick off their FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign against each other at the Seattle Stadium in Seattle on Monday, June 15.

The game will be officiated by Brazilian referee Ramon Abatti who will be taking charge in the FIFA World Cup for the first time. He began his journey in top-flight football with his first league debut on September 13, 2020. Recognizing his officiating standards, he was elevated to the status of a FIFA-listed referee in 2023.

He has taken charge of matches in the Copa Libertadores, Copa Sudamericana, and South American World Cup qualifications. Additionally, his expertise has been utilised globally, leading him to referee matches in the UAE Pro League, the Saudi Pro League, the U20 World Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup.
