Norway became the latest team to secure a spot at the Round of 32 of the FIFA World Cup 2026 after it beat Senegal 3-2 on Monday.

Norway, which had earlier beaten Iraq, will now progress to the knockouts along with France from Group I.

The Scandinavian side rode on a second-half double from star striker Erling Haaland to outpower Senegal. This is only the second time Norway has qualified for the knockout stage in the World Cup, after its Round of 16 appearance in 1998.

The top spot in Group 1 will be determined by the Norway-France clash on June 27.

So far, six teams have secured their spot in the Round of 32 stage:

• Mexico (Group A)
• United States (Group D)
• Germany (Group E)
• Argentina (Group J)
• France (Group I)
• Norway (Group I)
