Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) on Saturday announced the founding franchise owners for the inaugural edition of TG20, the state’s maiden franchise-based T20 league.
The inaugural edition will feature eight teams, with talks ongoing to broadcast the tournament live on TV and online. Additionally, Prasanna Kannan, former chief executive officer of Tamil Nadu Premier League, has been appointed as the league’s CEO.
HCA secretary M. Jeevan Reddy remarked that TG20 will lay the foundations of a long-term cricketing ecosystem in the State.
“This marks a defining moment in Telangana cricket history. We are delighted to welcome franchise partners who believe in this vision and are committed to building something truly special for Telangana,” he said.
The team from Hyderabad, bought by Ushodaya Enterprises Pvt. Ltd., emerged as the costliest team, at Rs. 7,50,01,000. The team from Khamma, bought by Anvita Group, went for the lowest amount (Rs. 4,44,44,444).
The other six teams will be based out of Ranga Reddy (Rs. 7,20,00,000, Boorugu Infra/Pranava), Warangal (Rs. 6,55,00,000, Bain Global Resources Pvt. Ltd.), Medak (Rs. 6,33,33,369, M/S Bhrunda Infra Pvt. Ltd.), Nalgonda (Rs. 5,06,00,000, Kishore Infrastructures Pvt. Ltd.), Karimnagar (Rs. 4,57,00,000, EIPL Group & Tibarumal) and Mahabubnagar (Rs. 4,50,00,000, Veerabhadra Steels).
