There will be a training camp for the Indian players from August 1 to 8 at ISTA where SRFI is exploring the possibility of roping in three foreign players ranked inside the top 35 in the world for sparring with the Indian players.
SRFI is also scouting for a foreign coach to assist India’s head coach Harinderpal Singh Sandhu during the camp. Harinder and the foreign coach will travel with the team to Japan.

On Monday, Shameena also qualified as the fourth player of the women’s team, after Akansha Salunkhe retired midway in the first game leading 9-8 in the first game due to a knee injury in the play-off.
