Argentina’s Lionel Messi scored his second direct freekick goal in FIFA World Cups during a Group J game against Jordan in Dallas on Saturday.

Coming off the bench, Messi won a freekick after being fouled by Amer Jamous at the edge of the box. The 39-year-old then curled the ball around the Jordanian wall and past the keeper to find the net.

Messi had earlier scored a direct freekick goal against Nigeria in the 2014 World Cup.

His goal against Jordan was his sixth of the ongoing World Cup and his 19th in the tournament, extending all-time scoring record.

Messi is now the first player to score in seven consecutive World Cup games, a streak that started in the last edition.
