India’s junior women’s hockey team will tour the United Kingdom from July 5 to 14 for a seven-match campaign, including two fixtures against Scotland’s senior women’s side.
The team will also take on the England Under-21, USA U-21 and Belgium U-21 teams during the tour.
The assignment will be the first major international outing under newly appointed Australian coach Tim White and forms a key part of India’s preparations for upcoming international competitions.
India will begin the tour in Edinburgh with back-to-back matches against Scotland’s senior women’s team at the Peffermill Playing Fields, University of Edinburgh, on July 5 and 6.
The squad will then travel to Lilleshall, England, for five matches at the Lilleshall National Sports Centre.
India will face the USA U-21 on July 8 and 11, England U-21 on July 9 and 12, before concluding the tour against Belgium U-21 on July 14.
Speaking about the tour, White said: “This tour presents a valuable opportunity for our players to gain exposure against quality international opposition and experience different styles of hockey.
“Matches against world-class junior programmes, as well as Scotland’s senior side, will provide an excellent platform for learning and growth.”
