Co-host United States of America and Australia will face each other in a Group-D match at the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2026 at the Seattle Stadium on Friday. Interestingly, the history between the two sides, at least on the football pitch, is quite sparse.

The only time Australia has managed to beat USA was way back in 1992, when Warren Spink’s late goal was enough for a win in a friendly.
The most recent meeting between the two came last year when Haji Wright’s brace completed a comeback win for Mauricio Pochettino’s team after Jordan Bos had momentarily got Tony Popovic’s side ahead.
