Barcelona star Alexia Putellas on Friday refused to answer questions about her future beyond this season as the former Ballon d’Or winner prepares to lead the Catalans into the Women’s Champions League final against Lyon.
“I am only focusing on the immediate future, which is the final,” Putellas, winner of the Ballon d’Or in 2021 and 2022, told reporters in Oslo on the eve of the final.
“Every final has something special about it,” she added when asked if the meeting with the French side had a unique flavour for her as it could be her last game for Barcelona.
The 2023 World Cup winner with Spain has already won the Champions League three times with Barcelona.

She has been linked by Spanish media with a move to London City Lionesses, which belongs to Lyon owner Michele Kang.
Putellas, who has seven goals and seven assists in this season’s Champions League, is wary of a Lyon side determined to win a record-extending ninth European title.
“They are at the same level as in 2019, when we first played them in the final. What has changed now is that we are a better team,” said Putellas.
