Brian Brobbey and Cody Gakpo found the net twice each as Netherlands picked its first win of FIFA World Cup 2026, beating Sweden 5-1 in their Group F match in Houston on Saturday.

Brobbey scored twice in the first half while Gakpo strikes came seven minutes apart in the second-half as the Dutch asserted their style much better than they could against Japan in the opening round.

Sweden’s substitute Anthony Elanga found the consolation goal in the 59th minute but that could not inspire the Swedish side to come back into the match.

Crysencio Summerville capped off the night with a late goal, taking his tally to two goals from two games.
