The Czechia vs Mexico FIFA World Cup 2026 match will be played at the Mexico City in Mexico on Wednesday. This will be the final group-stage game of the tournament for both outfits.
The co-host has already qualified for the round of 32 with back-to-back wins. Czechia will need a win to further its chances.
FIFA confirmed that Argentine Yael Falcon Perez will officiate the Group A match between Czechia and Mexico.
The 38-year-old will be refereeing his second game at the World Cup after the earlier encounter between Sweden and Tunisia. Perez made the news in 2025 during an Argentine Primera Division match when the game was suspended after his assistant referee was hit by an object from the crowd. He also doubles up as a Physical education teacher and a lifeguard outside the football pitch.
Perez has also officiated in the Copa Libertadores, Saudi Pro League, UEFA Under-19 Euro, U20 World Cup, Copa America and the FIFA Club World Cup.
