Both France and Norway have a spotless record in this World Cup, having won both of their games thus far, and France tops the group due to a larger goal difference.

In this tournament, both teams have already advanced to the round of 32. The match will determine which side wins the group.

English referee Michael Oliver will be the referee in Norway vs France at the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Oliver belongs to the select group of referees in the Premier League. He received his FIFA badge in 2012, allowing him to officiate in major international matches. He was appointed to take charge of the final of the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup and was promoted to the UEFA Elite Group of Referees in 2018.

In a May 2022 FIFA pronouncement, Oliver was listed as one of six English officials to oversee matches at the November and December World Cup.

On 10 August 2022, he was the referee for the 2022 UEFA Super Cup between Eintracht Frankfurt and Real Madrid.

This will be his second match at this World Cup, with his first game being the one between Sweden and the Netherlands. Oliver was supposed to take charge of the match between Ecuador and the Ivory Coast earlier in the tournament, but pulled out due to an injury.
