Long jumper Ancy Sojan bettered Anju Bobby George’s 22-year long National Record on Saturday at the Inter-State Athletics Championships in Bhubaneswar.
Ancy jumped 6.88m in her fifth attempt to break Anju’s record of 6.83 meters, which was set at the Athens Olympics in 2004.
Earlier in the day, Sarvesh Kushare broke Tejaswin Shankar’s National Record in the men’s high jump.
