Kylian Mbappe produced a unique celebration after scoring in the 66th minute of France’s FIFA World Cup 2026 opener against Senegal in New Jersey on Tuesday.
As he slotted the ball past the Senegal keeper Edouard Mendy, Mbappe ran towards the corner flag and gestured playing a flute.
The 27-year-old recently appeared in an interview with FoxSport where he played the instrument. He had even stated that he would make it his celebration if he scored against the African side.
“My parents wanted me to do many things, explore many things to open my mind, because we never know when that’s going to happen. I did it for one or two years. It was fun,” Mbappe said in that interview.
