Gujarat Titans pacer Kagiso Rabada took two wickets against Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 2 on Friday night to move to the top of the IPL 2026 Purple Cap Leaderboard with one game left.
Rabada now has 28 wickets from 16 matches at an average of 20.78 and an economy rate of 9.43.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s Bhuvneshwar Kumar follows closely behind in second with 26 wickets from 15 matches. With the remaining contenders in the top five out of contention, the final will be a straight shootout between Rabada and Bhuvneshwar for the coveted cap.
Rajasthan Royals’ Jofra Archer, who took one wicket against GT, remains third with 25 wickets from 16 matches.
Chennai Super Kings pacer Anshul Kamboj is fourth with 21 wickets from 14 matches, while Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Eshan Malinga rounds out the top five with 20 scalps from 15 matches.
