Belgium will look to recover from an opening matchday draw with Egypt when it takes on Iran in a FIFA World Cup 2026 Group G encounter at the Los Angeles Stadium on Sunday.
Iran played an entertaining 2-2 draw with New Zealand in its opening encounter and will be confident of restricting the Red Devils and earning at least a point.
Who is the referee for the Belgium vs Iran FIFA World Cup 2026 match?
The Group G match between Belgium and Iran will be officiated by Argentinian referee Dario Herrera, who will be making his debut in the World Cup.
Herrera made his debut as a league referee back in 2013 and he became a FIFA referee in 2015. The Argentine has officiated 219 matches in the Argentine Primera Division, having dished out 1149 yellow cards in that time.
He has also refereed in the CONMEBOL World Cup qualifiers, the U20 World Cup, the Copa America and in a few international friendly matches.
