FIFA on Wednesday revealed the timeline for the official announcement of the final squads for all the 48 teams set to take part in the 2026 edition of the World Cup.
“FIFA plans to announce the 26-player official squad lists for the 48 competing teams on Tuesday, 2 June,” the sport’s world body said in a statement.
However, the national teams are allowed to reveal the squads at any time, but it won’t be considered as the official one till FIFA confirms on June 2.
How many players are allowed per squad for the FIFA World Cup 2026?
A preliminary squad list consisting of 35-55 players will be submitted by participating nations to FIFA, but this will not be published by the Body.
The final list will then have 23-26 players, out of which three members have to be goalkeepers.
