Spain was held to a goalless draw by World Cup debutant Cape Verde at the Atlanta Stadium, Georgia on Monday.
Cape Verde, ranked 67th in the world, frustrated the reigning European champion as Luis De La Fuente’s side couldn’t find the breakthrough despite firing 27 shots on goal.
Spain teenage star Lamine Yamal was fit enough to only come off the bench in the 71th minute, but couldn’t make a telling difference in his brief cameo.
