Cape Verde goalkeeper Josimar Dias became the second-oldest player to make their World Cup debut when he lined up against Spain at the Atlanta Stadium in Georgia on Monday.
Dias, commonly known as Vozinha, plays his club football for Chaves in Liga Portugal 2, the second division league in Portugal.
Vozinha, 40, is only behind Egyptian goalkeeper Essam El Hadary, who made his World Cup bow in the 2018 edition at 45 years, 161 days.
Against Spain, Vozinha has pulled off a series of saves to frustrate the European champion to keep the scores level at 0-0.
