Sunrisers Hyderabad qualified for the IPL 2026 Playoffs with a five-wicket win over the Chennai Super Kings at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Monday.

Ishan Kishan anchored the chase with a 47-ball 70 after Pat Cummins picked three wickets to restrict CSK to 180 for seven in 20 overs.

CHENNAI SUPER KINGS

Sanju Samson: 5 - Got the team off to a blistering start before being caught behind off Pat Cummins. (27 runs off 13 balls - 5 fours, 1 six)

Ruturaj Gaikwad:2 - Was a muted presence, struggling to find his usual fluency before falling to Cummins. (15 runs off 21 balls - 0 fours, 0 sixes)

Urvil Patel: 4 - Had a brief but high-impact cameo, smashing two big hits early on before being clean-bowled by Sakib Hussain. (13 runs off 8 balls - 2 sixes)

Kartik Sharma: 5 - Kept the momentum alive through the middle overs with a brisk knock before Nitish Kumar Reddy caught him off Cummins. (32 runs off 19 balls - 3 fours, 2 sixes)

Dewald Brevis: 5.5 - Anchored the back half of the innings and emerged as the top-scorer for CSK with a flurry of sixes before being cleaned up by Eshan Malinga. (44 runs off 27 balls - 2 fours, 4 sixes)

Shivam Dube: 4 - Played a steady supporting role to Brevis, before struggling to push on in the death overs. (26 runs off 23 balls - 3 fours, 1 six)

Prashant Veer: 4 - Struck two boundaries late in the death overs to chip in with quick runs before being caught and bowled by Praful Hinge on the final ball. (11 runs off 9 balls - 2 fours, 0 sixes)

Akeal Hosein: 6 - Picked up the wicket of Abhishek Sharma and restricted the scoring rate. Wasn’t given a final over. (3 off 1 ball and 1/21 in 3 overs)

Noor Ahmad: 4 - The Afghan spinner’s dismissal of Klaasen came a little too late and he was also slightly expensive in his spell. (1/40 in 4 overs)

Anshul Kamboj: 3.5 - The wicket of Ishan Kishan in his final over was merely a consolation. Missed his lengths frequently and proved to be expensive. (1/46 in 4 overs)

Spencer Johnson: 4 - Went wicketless in the game, but displayed good control with the ball during the PowerPlay. (0/26 in 3 overs)

Mukesh Choudhary: 6 - Excellent opening spell in the Powerplay where he curtailed the run flow and picked up the wicket of Travis Head. (2/36 in 4 overs)

SUNRISERS HYDERABAD

Abhishek Sharma: 4.5 - Played a steady knock looking at the conditions but gave his wicket away against a ball fown leg from Hosein. (26 off 21 balls, 3 fours, 1 six)

Travis Head: 3 - Fell early in the chase trying to force the lofted shot against Mukesh. (6 off 6 balls, one four)

Ishan Kishan: 8.5 - Played a match-winning knock to take his side home in a tough chase. Took it deep but fell just before the finish line. (74 off 47 balls, 7 fours, 3 sixes)

Heinrich Klaasen: 7 - Was at his authoritative best as he prevented CSK from exerting any pressure through the middle overs. Fell just short of his fifty. (47 off 26 balls, 6 fours and 2 sixes)

Salil Arora: 6 - Saw the team through despite late wickets falling. (10 off 5 balls, 1 six)

R. Smaran: 5 - Came down late in the order to provide the finishing touch to the chase. (5 off 2 balls, 1 four)

Nitish Kumar Reddy: 3 - Opened the bowling but found it tough to contain Sanju Samson, leaking a few big hits in his short spell. Also contributed a 7-ball 11 in the business end of the chase. (2-0-35-0)

Praful Hinge: 3.5 - Bowled a high-pressure final over and was rewarded with a wicket off the very last delivery of the innings. (3-0-37-1)

Pat Cummins: 8 - The pick of SRH bowlers, he delivered a masterclass in hard-length bowling to break crucial partnerships. (4-0-28-3)

Eshan Malinga: 6.5 - Produced a disciplined spell at the death, castling the dangerous Brevis. (4-0-26-1)

Sakib Hussain: 7 - Stayed aggressive through the middle and death overs, rattling the stumps twice to claim key wickets. (4-0-34-2)

Shivang Kumar: 6 - Contained CSK in the middle phase of the innings, but ended wicketless. (3-0-20-0)

The rating points are an output of a relative grading based on  CricViz Match Impact scores from the CSK vs SRH match.

CricViz Match Impact quantifies the additional or reduced runs contributed by a player in comparison to an average player operating within the identical game context. Each delivery is assessed and assigned a positive or negative run value, reflecting how it influences the team’s expected total.
