India’s Veer Chotrani narrowly beat compatriot Abhay Singh in the first round of the PSA World Squash Championships 2026 which kicked off in Giza, Egypt on Friday.
Chotrani edged Abhay, the 25th seed, 3-2 (14-12, 8-11, 5-11, 11-7, 11-2) to complete a comeback win and enter the second round of the Worlds. Chotrani will either face top seed and local hope Mostafa Asal or Germany’s Raphael Kandra.
The other Indian in the main draw is Velavan Senthilkumar, who will play sixth seed Victor Crouin of France on Saturday.
