India wins the match by 38 runs.
ENG 142/7 (19)
Ecclestone with a boundary to start the over. She drives the next one to long on for two runs. Charani keeps it tight, just 8 runs from that over.
ENG 134/7 (18)
Second best figures for an Indian on debut. A memorable debut for Nandni Sharma. She bowls a slower ball, Wong swings across the line and misses it completely, giving Nandni her third wicket.
Wong b Nandni Sharma 4 (3)
ENG 128/6 (17)
Going from bad to worse for England: Kemp 8 (10) c Ghosh b DB Sharma - Edged the ball and wicket. Deepti kept the over tight and a boundary to finish the over.
ENG 120/5 (16)
Nandni Sharma comes back into the attack. A cutter is hit past the bowler for a single before Kemp pulls the third ball towards deep midwicket for two.
Nandni then picks up her first wicket in T20Is, dismissing Amy Jones for 67 off 48 balls. Jones goes for the slog sweep but does not get the distance.
Jones c Shafali Verma b Nandni Sharma 67 (48)
Double strike for Nandni. She follows it up with a slower ball, and Gibson chips it in the air to Shafali to depart for a duck.
Gibson c Shafali Verma b Nandni Sharma 0 (1)
ENG 115/3 (15)
Deepti Sharma into the attack, and Amy Jones comes down the track immediately, driving the first ball past mid-off for four. She follows it up with a sweep through square leg for another boundary. Four singles thereafter, all worked towards Jemimah Rodrigues at midwicket.
ENG 103/3 (14)
Shree Charani strikes with her second delivery. England needs 13 runs an over, and Heather Knight departs for 22. Knight 22 (24) c Rodrigues b Shree Charani
A really tight over just three runs and a wicket.
ENG 100/2 (13)
Arundhati comes back for her third over of the night. A full delivery outside off is stabbed into the ground for a dot to start with, followed by a single towards midwicket. The required run rate is ticking up, and singles should not worry India at this stage. England brings up its 100.
ENG 97/2 (12)
Kranti Gaud with the ball, in for her last over of the day. Two dot balls to start with. Amy tried a reverse scoop and missed.
Amy picks the gap in deep midwicket for a quick single, and then again in a similar area for two runs.
ENG 94/2 (11)
The drinks break gave India something to celebrate as it brought up its 100, along with Yastika’s half-century. But wickets thereafter slowed the pace of the innings. England looks comfortable at 85/2, and it will be interesting to see how it goes about the chase from here.
Deepti Sharma with her second of the night - Amy Jones with a quick single to start with. Flat on middle and punched to midwicket for another single.
Knight comes down the ground, and picks a boundary in the fourth ball.
A tight over throughout, except for that boundary.
ENG 85/2 (10)
Charani continues. Just singles and a two in this over as drinks are taken at the halfway mark of this innings.
ENG 79/2 (9)
Deepti Sharma with her first over. And instantly, she stops midway with her run up, telling Jones to stay in her crease. FOUR! A reverse-hit, not one with full conviction, and Jones finds the gap through the covers for a boundary. She follows it up with a slog sweep behind square leg for another FOUR! Some great running between the wickets from the two batters.
ENG 66/2 (8)
Spin comes into the attack as N. Shree Charani given her first over. Oooooh! A slower, lofted one, looping into Jones as the batter swings and misses. Almost gets the stumps. But next ball, Shafali dives and fails to stop the ball as it races through extra cover for a FOUR!
ENG 58/2 (7)
Nandni with her second over. Jones pulls it hard through mid-wicket but Jemimah does well to stop the hurtling sphere. Two taken. Next ball, Jones lifts the ball over the in-field and finds the boundary over at long off. And another FOUR! Jones, this time, drags the ball from way outside off and towards deep mid-wicket.
Knight gets her first boundary of the night with a waited cut through backward point for a FOUR! 15 runs from this over.
ENG 43/2 (6)
Kranti continues, with her third over now. Reminder, Kranti also has a good time against the English. It was the Madhya Pradesh pacer who claimed six wickets in an ODI against England last year, becoming the youngest player to take a six-fer in the 50-over format.
Meanwhile, a run out attempt with Smriti finding the stumps from over at mid on. But Knight was well in her crease.
ENG 39/2 (5)
Arundhati with her second over. Heather Knight is the new batter, now at the other end. Close! The ball moves into Jones, between the bat and body. Almost gets the top of her stumps. Just two runs from the over.
ENG 37/2 (4)
Gaud continues, and she gives width to Capsey, who slashes it well through point for a FOUR! Jones gets in the party as she too finds the gap on the off side to find another FOUR!
GONE! Capsey tries to connect a shorter one and instead, nicks one to Richa behind the stumps! Kranti gets another breakthrough, despite conceding runs in this over.
Capsey 6 (5) c Richa b Kranti
ENG 27/1 (3)
It’s debutant Nandni Sharma with her first over. Amy Jones, the new batter, drives it for a single. FOUR! After a couple of dots, she hoicks it down the ground past Nandni’s hand for a boundary.
ENG 19/1 (2)
Kranti Gaud with her first over. And on her third ball, Dunkley smacks it down the ground for a SIX!
OUT! A shorter ball from Kranti and Dunkley tries to send it over the ropes. But a mistimed shot and it falls kindly into the hands of Shafali over at mid off.
Dunkley 16 (10) c Shafali b Kranti
ENG 11/0 (1)
Time for England’s chase. Alice Capsey and Sophia Dunkley open the batting. And it looks like Shafali Verma will get things going for India. Interesting first-over choice from Smriti Mandhana. Never mind, it’s Arundhati Reddy who’s going to start the innings with her pace. She does have a good time on the English shores with the ball.
Good delivery to start. Slightly moves in the air, towards Dunkley. Almost a yorker, and a dot. A wide to follow.
FOUR! Slightly outside off, but a bit of movement back into the right-hander. Dunkly tried to cut it but an edge almost gets her stumps. But the fortuitous shot races behing for a boundary.
Shafali does well over mid on to stop a couple of runs.
Width and Dunkley punishes it through point for a FOUR!
188/7 (20)
Deepti sweeps the second over square leg for a boundary, important runs.
A quick single next up, and Arundhati on strike. Good running between the wickets, and England players fumble a bit, and they run three.
Deepti Sharma has to walk back - Deepti Sharma 22 (12) c Dean b Bell
Kranti comes in and a single to finish the innings.
IND 178/6 (19)
Gibson with the ball, and Deepti welcomes her with a boundary over third man. Another four, this time a slower ball, and Deepti plays it over the bowler’s head for another four. This is turning out to be an expensive over. Third ball pitching outside leg stump and beats everyone for (5wide).
Gibson finishes it tight, singles to finish the over.
IND 161/6 (18)
Dean comes back for her last over. Deepti Sharma sweeps it for a boundary in the third ball. Arundhati bags two runs to finish the over.
IND 153/6 (17)
After going expensive at the start of her bowling, Wong is coming back strong, removing Fulmali, who walks back after scoring 7. Bharti Fulmali 7 (8) b Wong
Wide and that brings up India’s 150.
Deepti Sharma nicks it for two runs, and ends the over with a slower delivery.
IND 148/5 (16)
Corteen-Coleman with her third over of the match and picks her first wicket of the match. A beautiful catch by Wong to remove Ghosh. Ghosh 4 (5) c Wong b Corteen-Coleman
IND 144/4 (15)
Ecclestone into the attack, trying to build pressure at two new batters in the crease.
A four by Fulmali to finish the over.
IND 137/4 (14)
Dean comes back into the attack, keeps it tight in her first ball but punished in her second delivery for a boundary. The partnership is finally broken -- Yastika should have turned it down and ends up being run out in the bowler’s end.
Yastika 54 (40) run out (Corteen-Coleman)
Jemimah gives herself some room and a boundary.
Another wicket in this over - caught and bowled, and it’s Jemimah to follow Yastika back in the dugout.
Jemimah 69 (40) c&b Charlie Dean
IND 127/2 (13)
Lauren Bell comes back for her third over. Two dots to start with.
A single from Yastika puts Jemimah on strike who plays a square drive on the front foot for a boundary. Two quick runs and a dot to finish the over.
IND 120/2 (12)
Jemimah hit a six over extra cover to bring up her half-century. Corteen-Coleman gave away just seven runs in her first over; she won’t be too pleased with that sixer to start her second over. That was a big scare there. Wicketkeeper Amy Jones fumbled a stumping chance, and Yastika finishes the over with a single.
IND 112/2 (11)
Yastika brings up her half-century and India’s 100 at the end of 10 overs, with the drinks break arriving at a fitting moment.
Gaibson comes back for her second over. Jemimah opens herself up and slashes the ball over cover a boundary. A 100-run partnership off just 58 balls for the Indian duo, which steadied the innings after the early wickets.
IND 101/2 (10)
Wong returns after that expensive first over. FOUR! Slight walk down the crease and Yastika lifts it over the covers, one bounce and over the ropes for a boundary.
FIFTY! A very well made half-century by Yastika Bhatia!
IND 92/2 (9)
Ecclestone with her second over. Jemimah with a reverse-sweep and a mis-field lets the ball trickle towards the boundary for a FOUR! Another FOUR from Jemimah! She makes space for herself and sends it over the in-field.
IND 81/2 (8)
Dean continues. Yastika hits it straight down but just a single there as Ecclestone collects it. Brilliant over for the English, just two runs coming off it. Leading by example, the England skipper.
IND 79/2 (7)
Dani Gibson the newest bowler brought in. Jemimah scoops her behind the stumps for a two. A much better over for England, no boundary so far. And it stays that way, just six runs from it.
IND 73/2 (6)
Skipper Charlie Dean with her first over. Little bit of mind games there! Dean first doesn’t finish her run-up, and then Jemimah follows it up by walking away from the crease as soon as Dean is going to bowl.
FOUR! A bit on the shorter side and Jemimah pulls it across for a boundary.
Jemimah gets a lifeline there. She slog sweeps the ball and a top edge seemed that there would be a catching chance. But Corteen-Coleman can’t judge where it’s falling.
IND 66/2 (5)
Sophie Ecclestone brought in for her first over. FOUR! Jemimah slightly makes space and unleashes an inside-out cover drive through the gaps. Jemimah sweeps, again, and almost misses the ball. But a single is taken.
SIX! Yastika comes down and sends it over long on for a maximum! She follows it up with a reverse-hit for a FOUR!
IND 51/2 (4)
Debutant Corteen-Coleman handed the ball for her first over. The left-arm spinner bowling to Jemimah, who takes a single. FOUR! Yastika notches up another boundary with a sweep behind square leg.
IND 44/2 (3)
Bell continues. And she starts with a wide to Jemimah Rodrigues.
FOUR! Full toss and Jemimah comes down the track to flick it over mid-wicket and to the boundary. A quick single and in that, the throw catches Yastika straight on the top of her helmet.
Lucky there! Yastika almost plays it onto the stumps but gets a reprieve, as the ball races for another FOUR!
IND 34/2 (2)
Issy Wong sharing the new ball. First ball wide and goes for a FOUR! Second ball wide too. Third ball, Wong gets an edge from Yastika but the ball races through third for a FOUR!
What was that!? Way down leg to Yastika and Amy Jones can’t collect that. Another FOUR. Yastika follows it with a classy drive through point for another FOUR! Another FOUR! Yastika deftly pushes the ball down the ground, past mid off. A low full toss and Yastika says ‘thank you very much’. She sends it hurtling towards the off side and into the boundary ropes for another FOUR!
IND 7/2 (1)
Lauren Bell to start with the new ball. Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma, as expected, opening the innings for India.
GONE! Smriti smiles and she has to walk back! On a full ball outside off, the southpaw sends it uppish and cover takes a prompt catch!
Smriti 0 (1) c Dean b Bell
Four! New batter Yastika Bhatia, on her first ball, drives and the ball races to the boundary behind point.
Shafali sends it over the in-field and it lands in no-man’s land. Two runs taken.
OUT! Shafali with a half-hearted shot there and that’s the end of her innings. Bell angles it into the batter’s body and the Indian tries to make space but not enough time. She holes out to mid on, Alice Capsey diving forward to take a fine catch.
