The Netherlands is the newest side to join the Women’s T20 World Cup fold having broken through to the finals courtesy solid performances in the global qualifier.

The side is led by wicket-keeper batter Babette de Leede and is in the middle of its maiden campaign in the tournament.

The Netherlands is the only team in this World Cup which does not have contracts of any sort with most players balancing work or study alongside cricket.

Babette de Leede played in the FairBreak tournament, an invitational tournament sanctioned by the ICC to give full member and associate nation players a platform to play league-format cricket together.

Babette de Leede

The leader, number three batter, and wicket-keeper for this Dutch side, Babette de Leede is something of an exception to this team as she has a professional contract to play in South Africa. She may be keeping wickets for this team but she is something of an all-rounder as well, having previously played hockey and studied econometrics before taking the plunge of playing cricket professionally. She has also previously played in the FairBreak tournament, an invitational tournament sanctioned by the ICC to give full member and associate nation players a platform to play league-format cricket together

Sterre Kalis

Netherlands will be making its debut at the T20 World Cup, and if it is to spring any upsets, Sterre Kalis will likely have a major role to play. Kalis is a top-order batter who bats at four for the Dutch team, and is a professionally contracted player, who takes on responsibility for scoring a bulk of the runs. She has a wealth of domestic experience in England. She has made 21 appearances in The Hundred to go along with her international appearances for the Netherlands.

Sanya Khurana

A batter who generally bats in the lower-order, Sanya Khurana’s first calling appeared to be tennis. However, she picked up cricket at age 14 and has stuck with it since. She now has to balance her cricket with pursuing a degree in business from Cardiff University in the UK, but all exams and assignments will have to go on the backburner for a while as she represents her country at global cricket’s biggest stage.

Rosalie Lawrence

Rosalie Lawrence is among the newer faces in this Dutch side, having been called up to the Dutch only on the precipice of the T20 World Cup. A wicketkeeper-batter, Lawrence was a part of Netherlands’ side for the qualifying stage of the U-19 T20 World Cup in 2025, and has just a single T20I appearance against Scotland in their tri-series with Bangladesh to her name.

Phebe Molkenboer

Phebe Molkenboer may be just 21, but she is one of the most experienced and important parts of this Dutch side. No match sums this up quite like the match against USA which sealed Netherlands’ qualification for the World Cup, where she batted at the top of the order and played an unbeaten hand of 46 not out to see her side to a strong position before rain intervened to confirm its spot in the tournament.

Myrthe van den Raad

At 20 years of age, Myrthe van den Raad is one of the younger members of this Netherlands squad, but since making her debut, she has found herself a firm part of this team. A batter who can bat through the order and bowl some occasional right-arm seam, she has also shown herself capable of producing moments of excellence in the field during her time in orange.

Frederique Overdijk

Only a handful of cricketers in the history of the World Cup can lay claim to holding a Guinness World Record, but Frederique Overdijk is one of them. The 25-year-old all-rounder is the first cricketer to take seven wickets in a T20I, having done so against France in 2021 in a spell of four overs that did not go for a single run. Netherlands will rely on her newly-developed spin bowling and batting in this tournament as well.

Robine Rijk

Robine Rijk is a player who lends this Dutch side crucial balance with her ability to bowl medium-pace and bat through the middle. The 27-year-old’s career was beset by a suspension for an illegal bowling action early on, but she has since gone on to prove herself a crucial member of this side, a role which she balances with being a Strategic Advisor for the Dutch Gambling Authority.

Heather Siegers

A veteran of Dutch cricket, Heather Siegers was the fourth Dutch cricket (men’s or women’s) to score a T20I century in 2025, but months later, she decided to call time on her cricketing career in order to focus on her career. However, a call from her sister Silver turned things around, and she rejoined the squad for the Qualifiers. A veteran of Dutch cricket, she will now have the chance to represent her country at the T20 World Cup, a remarkable turnaround for someone who thought they were done with the game.

Iris Zwilling

Iris Zwilling is perhaps one of the bridges between the senior and youthful generations of this Dutch side. The 25-year-old all-rounder has established herself as a crucial part of this side with both bat and ball, and was a vital part of its qualification campaign. She has also spent time abroad training in Australia, all experience she will be looking to put to use during this T20 World Cup.

Caroline de Lange

Caroline de Lange’s story is one that has caught headlines ahead of the tournament. The 27-year-old graduated from medical school last year, and has left her job in a hospital to send down her leg-breaks for the Netherlands at this World Cup. Indeed, she has lined up a job in a nursing home after the World Cup as she looks to balance the two, but for the next month her focus will be springing a surprise with the Dutch.

Hannah Landheer

Hannah Landheer first represented the Netherlands in 2019, making her debut against Scotland, and has since become a regular feature in the Dutch seam attack. She was an integral part of its qualification campaign, taking seven wickets at an average of 11.71, and she will be keen to make an impression on the biggest stage though team combination may mean that she misses out on the first-choice team.

Lara Leemhuis

At just 17 years of age, Lara Leemhuis is not just the youngest player in this Netherlands squad, but the youngest player at the entire T20 World Cup, narrowly pipping Gabriela Fontenla of Scotland. She has played just two T20Is, one against Namibia and one against Germany, but she is one to watch for the future.

Silver Siegers

A leg-spinner who operates in the first six overs of a T20I is something of an anomaly, but in Silver Siegers, Netherlands has just that. The younger sister of Heather, Siegers has something of an unusual action, delivering the ball from beyond the perpendicular, but it has proved mighty effective. She is also pursuing a degree in International Business Administration from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam

Isabel van der Woning

Isabel van der Woning was a crucial part of Netherlands’ run to qualify for the T20 World Cup, finishing as its top wicket-taker in qualifying with nine wickets. A seamer who bowls with speed, van der Woning is another member of this squad balancing her studies with professional, and though she had an injury scare during the team’s warm-up match against Sri Lanka, she is fit and will be keen to make an impression in the tournament.
