Defending champion Argentina will take on Cape Verde in the Round of 32 in FIFA World Cup 2026.
The fixture was confirmed after Cape Verde played out its third consecutive draw to secure the runner-up spot in Group H. The 2026 edition is Cape Verde’s first-ever World Cup appearance in its seventh attempt at qualification.
Argentina had earlier won Group J after winning its first two games, against Algeria and Austria. The South American side will face Jordan in its final group game on Saturday.

The Argentina vs Cape Verde round of 32 match will be played on July 3 at 6:00 p.m. (3:30 a.m. IST on July 4).
The match will be played at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, the city in which Argentine talisman Lionel Messi currently plays his club football.
