Lorcan Tucker has been appointed Ireland men’s permanent T20I captain and will lead a new-look squad in the two-match series against India in Belfast this week.
The 29-year-old wicketkeeper-batter has played 159 matches for Ireland across formats since making his debut in 2016. Tucker, who captains Leinster Lightning in the Inter-Provincial competition, has also led Ireland men twice before.

Ireland will be without several regulars, with Josh Little, Mark Adair, Paul Stirling, Curtis Campher, Barry McCarthy and Jordan Neill recovering from injuries. Matthew Hollard and Jai Moondra have received their first senior Ireland call-ups, while Reuben Wilson, who made his Test debut against New Zealand last month, is uncapped in T20Is.
The first T20I will be played at Stormont on June 26, followed by the second match at the same venue on June 28. Both matches will start at 1.30pm local time.
