Ivory Coast striker Elye Wahi has been named on the bench for its match against Germany in Toronto on Saturday, June 20.

Wahi is currently under investigation for match-fixing in France, with French authorities saying unusual betting patterns were detected around a yellow card Wahi received in a Ligue 1 match while playing for Nice last month.

The ‌Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) had initially said that Wahi was not granted a visa to enter Canada, but reported hours later that the situation had evolved favourably.

“The ‌Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) reports that Elye Wahi’s administrative situation has ‌evolved ⁠favorably. The necessary authorisations for his entry into Canadian territory ⁠have now been obtained,” said a statement from the official X account of the Ivorian Football Federation.

Wahi started for Ivory Coast in its tournament opener against Ecaudor, and was substituted off in the second half.
