East Bengal head coach Oscar Bruzon will leave the club at the end of the ongoing Indian Super League (ISL) 2025-26 season, he announced on Sunday.
“I want to announce that it is my decision not to continue in East Bengal when we finish the season on the 31st of May,” Bruzon said during the pre-match press conference ahead of the clash against Mumbai City on Tuesday.
Bruzon also said that assistant coach Adrian Rubio and trainer Javier Sanchez will also be departing the side after its final four games of the season.
Bruzon joined the club in October 2024, succeeding Carles Cuadrat. He previously worked as Mumbai City’s assistant manager to Nicolas Anelka in 2015.
The Spaniard has taken charge of 43 games for East Bengal in all competitions, recording 21 wins, 10 draws and 12 losses.
“The decision is mine. It is not related to economics. It is not related to the uncertainty of Indian football. It is not related to the club management, wanting or not wanting me to continue. It is not related to the position that we are going to finish in the ISL,” he said.
