Ismael Saibari’s 70 second goal caught Scotland by surprise and sealed Morocco’s 1-0 win in Group C at the Boston Stadium on Friday.
Besides scoring the fastest goal of FIFA World Cup 2026, Saibari also struck the post in the 50th minute.
Scotland made forays into the Moroccan half but its scrappy effort in front of goal meant a decisive goal eluded it.
The win puts the Atlas Lions on top of Group C with four points and eases their path to the knockouts. Scotland has three points from its first-round win against Haiti and could still reach the next round.
