The Netherlands and Japan will open their FIFA World Cup 2026 campaign in their group-match game in the United States of America on Sunday.
The game in Dallas will be the first between the nations since a 2-2 draw in a friendly in 2013, and the Dutch registered a 1-0 win over the Japanese at their only previous World Cup meeting in South Africa in 2010.
Japan had reached the quarterfinals of the last edition, while Lionel Messi’s Argentina had knocked the Dutch out in the quarterfinals, and the two nations will look to start the 2026 edition on a fresh note.
Netherlands vs Japan at the FIFA World Cup 2026 will be played at the AT&T Stadium, known as the Dallas Stadium, in Dallas, USA.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 3 pm local time on June 14 (1:30 am IST, June 15).
