Mumbai team featuring several Ranji players including India’s U-19 World Cup winning keeper-batter Abhigyan Kundu, Ranji stars like Musheer Khan and Suved Parkar will travel to the UK for a developmental tour, scheduled from June 20 to July 15.
The squad also includes senior team players like spinner Atharva Ankolekar, pacers Onkar Tarmale and Mohit Avasthi.
The Mumbai Cricket Association informed here on Tuesday that the touring party will play in three two-day matches and several one-day games against County second XI teams.
“The itinerary includes matches against teams associated with Sussex, Yorkshire, Lancashire, Gloucestershire and Derbyshire, offering the players an opportunity to test their skills against quality opposition,” the MCA said.

“The tour has been designed as a high-performance development initiative aimed at providing Mumbai’s emerging cricketers with valuable overseas exposure through competitive cricket in English conditions.” Former India captain Dilip Vengsarkar will also be visiting the squad during a few select matches of the tour and interact with the players.
MCA president Ajinkya Naik said organising the trip is also to send its players beyond known environments.
“The purpose of this tour goes beyond results. It is an opportunity for our young players to experience new environments, broaden their horizons, and grow both as cricketers and as individuals. Such exposure is invaluable in preparing them for future opportunities at the highest level of the game,” he said.
